5 Different Ways To Get Relief From Morning Sickness

Different pregnant women have different kinds of experiences regarding morning sickness. Some only experience them in the first trimester, some experience it throughout the pregnancy. Most women experience them only in the morning, but others might experience them all day and sometimes even in the night. There are no real explanations given by a doctor or an ultrasound baby scan clinic. But it will help a lot if you get to know some ways on how to deal with morning sickness.

Choose What You Are Eating Carefully

Your diet should be chosen very carefully. Your frequency and timings of morning sickness depend a lot on what you are eating and at what time. In the morning eat as less as possible. Salty foods are helpful like crackers, as are foods that contain ginger. Include protein, low fat, and easy to digest foods for your breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Bland foods, like bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast may be easy to digest.

Avoid Spicy Food and Have Fluids

Try to avoid spicy food. You can have dry fruits or biscuits. Stay away from food items containing lots of fat and sugar since it is hard to digest and therefore can cause acidity and indigestion. Also, staying hydrated is very important. Keep a bottle of water or lemonade near you all the time and sip it from time to time. This will keep your body hydrated and keep nausea at bay. You can also drink ginger ale.

Snack Often

Don’t try to eat a lot at the same time. Take a small amount of food and see if it’s agreeing with your stomach. If you are eating in small amounts, you can eat more frequently. But remember to keep something in your stomach because an empty stomach may make nausea worse. Eat healthy snacks in small amounts whenever you feel a bit hungry.

Try Out Prenatal Vitamins

If you feeling sick the whole day, you can try taking prenatal vitamins. If you don’t like taking just the tablets, you can take them with snacks or at dinner before going to bed. You might feel better in the morning. Consult your doctor if needed.

Eat Something Sour

Sour taste works like a medicine and helps alleviate nausea during pregnancy. Therefore, have something sour like a lemon pickle, which is dipped only in salt. This will settle your nerves.

After doing all this if your morning sickness doesn’t ease at all, then you should contact your doctor. You can also ask for suggestions on what to do when you go to your ultrasound baby scan clinic for a routine check-up.
